About.

Prosaic is a text editor defined by what it cannot do: language models cannot touch your prose. Instead, they read over your shoulder, and volunteer feedback proactively only when they deem it relevant.

Prosaic is for a very specific person. One for whom language forms the chisel with which to express what is good and right in this world. This includes the next great American novelist, as she toils away on metafiction in suburban Minnesota, as much as it does the journalist in downtown Bombay, tirelessly drafting his fourteenth copy of a newspaper column exposing corruption in his city.

The name reflects the belief that genius is not born in single moments of brilliance, but earned through hours and days and years of devoted toil. It is in the pedestrian and ordinary, in the prosaic, that beauty counts its birthplace.
